Saddle up!
Cycling and mountain biking in the Pustertal valley
Calf-burning and life affirming, the cycle routes in the Dolomites are the perfect place for bike rides. Take it easy on the cycle paths that cross the valley, including the Pustertal to Lienz cycle path, or take on the mountain by winding your way to the top. Fancy a ride on an electric bike? That’s an option too!

Up for a challenge?
The legendary Dolomiti Superbike mountain bike race across the Dolomites starts and ends right here in Niederdorf, with three different distance options to choose from.
A calf burner
Starting in Sexten, follow the Stoneman Dolomiti Bike trail and prepare to tackle 120 km with a 4,000 metre elevation gain
A leisurely ride
For a leisurely bike ride follow the Drau cycle path spanning 500 km, guiding you downhill from Innichen to Lienz, where you can take the train back to Niederdorf.
Twists and turns
Wind along the path to the Staller Saddle and enjoy the downhill ride to the quaint villages dispersed through the Defreggental valley.
For electric bikes
Discover the neightbouring valleys and admire the alpine pastures lining the cycle path. We recommend exploring the path trough the Höhlensteintal valley leading to Cortina, the path to Lake Braies and the route to the Gsiesertal valley.
Bike rental
Whether you’re looking to hire an electric bike, a mountain bike or a racing bike, there are several bike rental shops in and around Niederdorf where you will find the best model suited to you, as well as any accessories you may need.
A refreshing dip!
Tired after a long day on the bike? Soothe your muscles with a refreshing dip in the pool or at the hydrotherapy facilities nearby.
