Saddle up!
Cycling and mountain biking in the Pustertal valley
Looking for somewhere you can push down on the pedals until your calves burn? Look no further! Choose from steep trails up the Dolomites, or winding mountain pass roads like the one up the Staller saddle. Or just take it easy on the leisurely cycle paths in the valley, like the Pustertal cycle path that goes all the way to Lienz in East Tyrol. An electric bike tour to the local Alpine pastures? Of course, that’s an option, too!

For an extreme challenge
The legendary Dolomiti Superbike mountain bike race across the Dolomites starts and ends right here in Niederdorf, with three different distance options to choose from.

For a calf burner
The Stoneman Dolomiti Bike trail starts in Sexten – get ready to tackle 120 kilometres and a 4,000 metre elevation gain, without the rush of a race.

For leisure
The Drau cycle path is perfect for a leisurely bike ride. 50 kilometres long, it will take you gently downhill from Innichen to Lienz. You can then go back by train.

For some nice twists
First, negotiate the hairpin bends that wind their way to the Staller saddle, then enjoy the downhill ride to the quaint villages sprinkled around the Defreggental valley.

For electric bikes
Explore the side valleys and Alpine pastures along forest paths and roads: we especially recommend the Höhlensteintal valley path to Cortina, the one to the Pragser Wildsee lake and the ones in the Gsiesertal valley.
Bike hire
Whether you’re looking to hire an electric bike, a mountain bike or a racing bike, there are several hire shops in and around Niederdorf where you can get the perfect model and any accessories you may need.
